The future of surfing shouldn't cost the future of the planet.
Our Earth, Our Playground
But it's changing. Oceans are warming. Materials are piling up.
If we love this world enough to surf it, we should protect it like we mean it.
The Hidden Waste of Surfing
Surfboards aren’t built to last. That’s the problem.
Every year, thousands of boards are thrown out, not because they’ve lived a long, full life, but because one part cracked. A snapped nose, a crushed tail, or a fracture down the center means game over for most boards. They end up in landfills, broken beyond repair, made of materials that won’t break down for decades.
it’s not just performance boards. Even so-called “eco” boards often use the same core materials with limited recyclability, meaning the end-of-life impact is the same: waste.
Surfing was never meant to be disposable, So why are our boards?
Small Fixes, Same Problem
The industry’s made small steps but it’s not nearly enough.
Recycled packaging, a dash of bio-resin, carbon offset stickers... It’s a start, but it’s surface-level. A slightly greener version of the same throwaway model.
Boards are still built as single units, once one part goes, the whole thing is useless. Repairs are messy, temporary, and often compromise performance. We've accepted this cycle for too long: break, toss, replace.
At MOVA, we asked a different question:
what if we didn’t fix the board after it broke? What if we designed it to be fixable from the very beginning?
The MOVA Way: Built to Repair, Not Replace
MOVA is surf redesigned not just for performance, but for the planet.
Our boards are modular by nature. That means when something breaks, you don’t toss the whole board. You replace the part. Snap in a new piece, and you’re back in the water. No duct tape. No compromise. No waste.
At the core is our precision 3D-printed joint system: strong, travel-ready, and built to evolve with you over time. Whether you're chasing waves across continents or heading down to your local break, MOVA is designed to move with you and last with you.
This is sustainability in action. A board that thinks beyond the session. A system that says: ride harder, waste less, and give the planet a break.
